Cibus Raises $1.2M

San Diego’s Cibus Global, which says it uses environmentally friendly biotechnology to develop crops with desired traits, has closed an equity and rights offering after raising almost $1.2 million, according to a recent regulatory filing. The agricultural biotech company founded in 2001 had targeted $2.6 million. Cibus has raised much of its recent capital through two strategic partnerships. Cibus formed a partnership with the Flax Council of Canada earlier this year, and another with Israel’s Makhteshim-Agan in 2009.
