Matt is a three-time startup entrepreneur, most notably as co-founder of Meetup.com, and is currently Entrepreneur-in-Residence with Polaris Ventures.
Matt began his career with online advertising agency i-traffic in 1998, representing such companies as Disney, CapitalOne, Staples, and others. i-traffic was acquired in early 2000 by Agency.com, and Matt left shortly after.
His next venture ran for 18 months but never got off the ground. Then, from 2002 to 2008, Matt helped build Meetup.com from an idea to a profitable company serving groups in 60 countries and millions of members.
After Meetup, Matt spent time building two different startup companies, Wee Web and OpenSky. Wee Web is a private social networking site for families. OpenSky is a social commerce company with $11 million in venture financing from Highland Partners and Canaan Partners.
