Ground Truth, Urban Airship Team Up with Verizon

9/21/10

Verizon Wireless announced today it is working with Seattle-based Ground Truth and Portland, OR-based Urban Airship (among other companies) to provide tools for the Verizon Developer Community. Financial details of the partnerships were not given. Ground Truth’s technology will help developers access aggregate data on demographics and mobile Web usage on their applications (for Android, RIM, Brew, and Windows Mobile phones). Meanwhile, Urban Airship will give mobile developers tools to enable “push notifications”—text messages and news alerts delivered over data networks—within their apps.
