Seattle-based Swedish Medical Center said today that it named Dr. Mark Reisman, a well-known interventional cardiologist, to the new position of chief scientific officer and head of research. Reisman is taking on the new role as part of an expanded research program at Swedish, which the hospital says is intended to advance research, but also help patients by focusing on “adopting new and emerging therapies as well as acquiring the latest technologies, faster.” Swedish also said today it has received a $1 million donation from aerospace executive Joe Clark to support cardiovascular research.
