Bio Architecture Lab Gets New CEO

Luke Timmerman5/11/10

Bio Architecture Lab, a spinoff from the University of Washington that’s developing biofuel from ocean seaweed, said today it has hired Daniel Trunfio to be its new CEO. Trunfio will replace CEO Nikesh Parekh, who will remain involved with the company in a new role to be determined, said spokesman John Williams. Trunfio spent 23 years of his career with Shell where he recently led the development of that company’s first and second generation biofuel strategies and operations worldwide, according to a Bio Architecture Lab statement. While the company was founded in Seattle, it is now based in Berkeley, CA and has operations in Chile.
