However, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has the majority of the funding, and also has an excellent online database, here: http://report.nih.gov/recovery/arragrants.cfm The one thing to be aware of is that, while most NIH ARRA research grants are for multiple years, only the first year of funding is recorded in the database. For example, last week Debbie Nickerson from UW received a 2-year $25 million genome sequencing center award, but it's listed in the database as $11 million, the first-year amount. As of right now, UW is listed as having received 248 NIH ARRA awards with a first-year funding total of $99 million. The Hutch is listed as having received 87 NIH ARRA awards with a first-year funding total of $30 million. The state as a whole is listed as having received 396 awards with a first-year funding total of $168 million (meaning that, statewide, there were 61 awards totaling $39 million received by organizations other than UW and the Hutch).
