Leroy Hood, the president of the Institute for Systems Biology, will kick off a discussion on how increasing understanding of the genome will lead the way for a switch from reactive to proactive healthcare. Gregory Foltz, a neurosurgeon at Swedish Neuroscience Institute will discuss how he is using a form of personalized medicine to treat brain tumors. The event, organized by the Washington Biotechnology & Biomedical Association, will be held from 4:30 pm-7:30 pm on Oct. 14 at the Institute for Systems Biology in Seattle.
