Escapia Raises $1.6M

Escapia, a Seattle-based provider of online vacation rental software raised $1.6 million from investors, according to an announcement by the company today.  Escapia, which was founded in 2000 and hosts software used by vacation rental managers to market and administer their property, is using the money to expand the capabilities of its software and accommodate new clients, with a 25 percent increase in the past year of rental agencies using the site.

Eric Hal Schwartz was an intern in Xconomy's Seattle office.
