Snow Leopard Growls at Windows 7

Eric Hal Schwartz6/8/09

Apple announced today at the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference in San Francisco that its new operating system, Snow Leopard, will ship in September, just a month before Microsoft’s Windows 7. In the speech unveiling Snow Leopard, Apple senior vice president of software engineering Bertrand Serlet said Snow Leopard represents real improvement over the current Apple OS, and dismissed Windows 7 as another version of Windows Vista. Snow Leopard was developed in part to better handle modern computer hardware like 64-bit processors.
