Hey Quinn - a leader possesses the ability to acknowledge that they ARE problems ( a contrast to the current lack of leadership over the last 8 years) and has a VISION of how to take care of them. That’s all it takes when your government leadership sucks as bad as it does for so long - just having someone step up and claim “yes we can” do those things and solve problems is a HUGE step in the right direction. The cynics along with those who feel that we as citizens should keep to watching American Idle rather than being concerned about our country and our leadership’s decisions - these folks - their days are numbered. Americans finally wanted change - do you think McCain was an agent of change like he indicated in the last few weeks of the campaign as he voted with Bush over 90% of the time??? We don’t want the same tired old crap - we want energy, optimism, idealism, action….. Hell, Kennedy took us to the moon in the days of analogue technology. He had never been to the moon before…name one reason why he should’ve been successful in leading us there… He inspired us - that’s why. Good leaders do that - they inspire and empower and they are visionaries. That’s how you get a government of, by and for the people to work - not by putting forth the entrenched roots of the problem like Senator Clinton and Senator McCain.

Obama is a "visionary leader"? Who exactly has he led? What executive positions has he held? Can you name the legislation he sponsored to address problems with "energy, disease, climate change, security, and economic competitiveness?" If not, what makes you think he's a visionary leader in those areas?

> Never has it been so critical that we have a President who understands science, technology, and innovation - critical to America, critical to the State of Washington, and critical to you and your children. I urge you to become informed on these issues, and to give them appropriate weight in your decision on November 4.

Spot on post Ed Lazowska !
