With Wishpot Mobile you can actually send:
- UPC/ISBN codes and get back lower price information and ratings
- Take a pix and send it to your list. You can add also a description and title

A mobile component could be very cool and I would pay for this service.

Maybe you send an SMS to a number with a barcode or a description of the item and it automatically gets added to your wishlist.

Hey, better yet, you take a picture of a the barcode with your camera phone and send an MMS to a number. The server processes the picture via OCR and pulls out the item description from Amazon or wherever and adds it to your wishlist.

Wishpot does have a mobile component. For instance, you can take a picture of a product with your phone, get information about it, and add it to your wish list (I think). They’re working on other cell phone interactions too.

Cool — sounds similar, in some ways, to Cambridge, MA-based Stylefeeder, a social shopping site that also got started as a Facebook application (http://www.xconomy.com/boston/2008/01/29/stylefeeder-facebooks-leading-shopping-engine-thinks-big-with-small-series-a-round/).

I wonder whether Wishpot will have a mobile component, so that if you really are in a Barnes & Noble and you see a book that you might be able to get more cheaply somwhere else, you can make a note to yourself?
