Google Gives $300,000 to Oregon State University for Open Source Projects

Google has donated $300,000 to Oregon State University to build more capacity at its open source computing lab, which means the company has now given a total of $750,000 to the lab, the university said in a statement. The money will further the work of the university, which has already played a role in some of the largest open source computing projects, including the Mozilla Firefox browser, parts of the One Laptop Per Child project, and the Linux Foundation’s main infrastructure.
