People should not be bowled over by the concept until they KNOW that it will not create health problems and be free of toxic emissions such as dioxin. Dioxin, an endocrine disruptor, is produced by burning plastics, and will likely escape from the "Plasma Enhanced Melter". The invention has five places that emit "fugitive emissions", as the inventor, Jeffrey Surma, admitted under oath in lengthy hearings in Red Bluff, California in 2005. A long court battle ensued after our local board pulled their permits to construct the plant (to treat medical waste). Ultimately Inentec chose to go where there would be less public opposition. So, wherever you are reading this, BEWARE!!!

Very cool. I've always wondered why someone (albeit someone smarter than I) wasn't implementing this idea. It seems to be a win-win to me, as it reduces our reliance on foreign oil and reduces the amount of garbage going into our landfills.
