Thermo Fisher MRSA Test Approved

The FDA has approved a new test for the “superbug” methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), according to the manufacturer, Waltham, MA-based Thermo Fisher Scientific (NYSE: TMO). The test, called Spectra MRSA, gives results within a day and integrates with routine lab systems to aid healthcare facilities’ efforts to screen their patients, the company said.
