The robots are coming—to SRI International in Menlo Park, that is, where the crew of Xconomy San Francisco is looking forward to welcoming a big crowd at The Future of Robotics in Silicon Valley and Beyond.

This is our first attempt at organizing a half-day conference on robots, how they’re changing our lives, and how Silicon Valley companies can contribute to the robot revolution. We’re extremely excited about the lineup of speakers who’ve agreed to join us, including CyPhy Works CEO Helen Greiner; Kiva Systems CEO Mick Mountz; SRI director of robotics Rich Mahoney; Willow Garage CEO Steve Cousins and director of open source development Brian Gerkey;  Liquid Robotics chief software architect James Gosling (also known as the creator of the Java programing language); Grabit founder Charlie Duncheon; Google’s manager of space initiatives, Tiffany Montague; Meka Robotics co-founder Aaron Edsinger; Adept Technology CEO John Dulchinos; and former University of Washington roboticist Yoky Matsuoka, who’s now with home automation company Nest.

We still have a handful of tickets left for the event, but you’ll have to act fast to get one of the last seats. Registration starts at noon and the event starts at 1:00 pm. The full agenda is here and you can check out our pre-event gallery of robot photos and videos here.
