A $1.5M Light in the Piazza

Piazza, a two-year-old Palo Alto startup building an online collaboration platform for students and teachers, said this week that it has raised $1.5 million in seed funding from Sequoia Capital, Felicis Ventures, Kapor Capital, and Ron Conway’s SV Angel. Founded by Pooja Nath, a graduate of the India Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India, Piazza is designed as “a remedy for students who were not given the intellectual space, freedom, or support to fulfill their educational potential or desire for learning.”
