4/1/11

San Francisco-based Qwiki, which is building an automated multimedia encyclopedia on the Web, said yesterday that it has added $1 million to the $8 million funding around it originally announced in January. The new money came from Lightbank, the investment fund of Groupon co-founders Brad Keywell and Eric Lefkofsky. The startup has now raised $10.5 million altogether, from a combination of individual investors such as Eduardo Saverin, Jawed Karim, and Pradeep Sindhu and institutional investors including Lerer Media Ventures, Tugboat Ventures, and Contour Venture Partners.
