Cisco to Acquire NewScale

Cisco Systems (Nasdaq: CSCO), the San Jose, CA-based networking equipment giant, said today that it intends to buy newScale, a San Mateo, CA-based company whose portal software helps IT departments in large organizations automate cloud services provisioning. “With the acquisition of newScale, Cisco will be able to accelerate the deployment of cloud services through a service catalog and self-service portal that allows customers to easily manage their IT infrastructures,” Cisco senior vice president of services Parvesh Sethi said in a statement. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
