In what’s being called the largest-ever fundraising round for a privately held semiconductor comopany, Santa-Clara, CA-based Tabula has collected $108 million in Series D funding from a group of investors including new investors Crosslink Capital and DAG Ventures and existing investors Balderton Capital, Benchmark Capital, Greylock Partners, Integral Capital, and NEA. The fabless company designs programmable logic and signal processing chips used heavily by communications infrastructure providers such as Cisco Systems and wireless operators. The company said it would use the cash to, among other things, speed production of its latest family of 3D chips.
