Facebook Buys Rel8tion

Rel8tion, a stealth-mode Seattle startup building a location-based mobile advertising system, has been acquired by Facebook, which is flush with cash from its recent $1.5 billion fundraising spree. The purchase was reported yesterday by AllThingsD and confirmed by Facebook. Rel8tion co-founder Peter Wilson, a Microsoft veteran who previously helped to set up Google’s Kirkland, WA, engineering center, will be an engineering director at Facebook’s nascent Seattle office, AllThingsD reported.
