Longtime Morgan Stanley analyst Mary Meeker, an early proponent of the Internet economy, has taken a new job as a partner with legendary Menlo Park, CA-based venture firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. KPCB reported the news in a press release this morning. As the firm’s newest partner, Meeker will be based in Silicon Valley and will “travel often to New York and Asia,” the firm said. “KPCB has a long and exceptional track record of helping entrepreneurs build world-changing ventures and launch new industries,” Meeker said in the announcement. “We’re at the beginning of another great wave of tech innovation and I am incredibly excited by the opportunity to help the next generation of Internet technologies and leaders.”
