11/15/10

TokBox, a San Francisco startup specializing in Web-based software for multi-party video calls, announced today that it has collected $12 million in a Series C funding round led by DAG Ventures. Existing investors Bain Capital Group and Sequoia Capital also participated. At the same time, the company introduced OpenTok, a new service that lets Web developers enhance their sites with TokBox-based group video communication for up to 20 people. The company argues that the feature will help Web publishers “increase user engagement by injecting human, face-to-face interaction.”
