Ongo Collects $12M

Ongo, a Cupertino, CA-based stealth-mode startup that says it will soon launch “a consumer service for reading and sharing digital news and information from multiple publishers,” announced yesterday that it has raised $12 million in financing from strategic backers Gannett Company (NYSE: GCI), The New York Times Company (NYSE: NYT), and The Washington Post Company (NYSE: WPO). According to a story today in Dow Jones VentureWire, Ongo’s founder and CEO is Alex Kazim, who formerly held several positions inside eBay: president of the Skype division, senior vice president of  new ventures, and head of marketing and business operations PayPal.
