Motorola Buys Aloqa

Aloqa GmbH, the Palo Alto, CA- and Munich, Germany-based maker of a cross-platform mobile app that automatically notifies users about interesting nearby events and services, has been acquired by Schaumburg, IL-based Motorola for an undisclosed sum, according to a Motorola press release today. It’s part of a general expansion for Motorola into mobile services; as Bruce reported last week, Silicon Valley, San Diego, and Austin, TX, are under consideration for the corporate headquarters of a Motorola mobile hardware and services spinout to be known as Motorola Mobility.
