9. Guardian Eyewitness – In many ways, the iPad may be the best thing to happen to photojournalism since the introduction of four-color printing in newspapers. Taking a cue from Boston.com’s popular “Big Picture” column on the Web, the UK’s Guardian newspaper has created an app that showcases one new news-driven photograph from a professional photographer every day. The photos are well chosen, the captions are expertly written, and the images give a real sense of the human drama behind the headlines. There are even tips for photographers (the app is sponsored by Canon).

    I think Apple iPad is the ultimate consumer device and there are some great applications that can make it even better. Sketchbook, Evernote or the Math apps are really amazing.
    This is the future of cloud computing,of portable devices with an interactive interface, high res visuals.
    There is also a nice selection of the best free ipad games with some interesting choices that might come handy..
    And the battery life, 10+ hour is just awesome.

    Thanks for the list. It would be helpful to have a link to the place I can go to download the app. Have to keep leaving your site and searching on Google… or guessing at the web address of the app. Please just add the hyperlink to these things. thanks

    Thanks for the list of apps. I just got an ipad, yesterday, and I am looking forward to using it. Although I am not a big fan of AT&T (The carrier used by the IPAD.), I do like their conceptof a no contract data plan. This would be of use when out of range of WiFi signal. With the advent of cloud computing, I do feel the IPAD and others of its ilk are the future of computing. Thanks again for your list.
