Google Earth – The Google Earth app for the iPhone always worked on the iPad, but I was thrilled last week to learn that Google had updated the app with a revamped interface designed to take advantage of the iPad’s big screen. This is simply a stunning app, with mind-blowing 3D topography and blazing fast rendering. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that if a GPS device maker had come out with an iPad-like device a few years ago, and Google Earth was the only app that ran on it, map geeks like myself would still have paid $499 or more for it. | |
