Conquering Diabetes

Connect has arranged a talk by Matthias von Herrath of the La Jolla Institute for Allergy & Immunology about his research into Type 1 diabetes, and his pursuit of a cure. Von Herrath has been recruited to lead a new translational diabetes center to be opened this summer in Seattle by Novo Nordisk. He plans to play a key role in clinical trials on potential new treatments for Type 1 diabetes, while continuing to lead his research program at the La Jolla Institute on a part-time basis.
