CareFusion Sells Unit for $130M

Xconomy San Diego —

CareFusion (NYSE: CFN), the San Diego medical equipment manufacturer, says it has agreed to sell its International Surgical Products distribution business, which is based in Rolle, Switzerland, to privately held Medline Industries for $130 million. The business sells consumable medical products, such as drapes and gowns, examination gloves, and custom procedure trays, with sales of $440 million a year. The divestiture is intended to focus CareFusion’s international business on the company’s core business, which includes Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets.
