Bluetooth low energy, which consumes a fraction of the power of conventional Bluetooth designs, is the next step in the evolution of Bluetooth wireless technology. As usual, San Diego is a hotbed of activity for this new wireless technology with the R&D operations of several companies based here. Nick Hunn, chairman of the CommNexus Bluetooth SIG evangelization committee, will present an overview of the technology, and share his vision of how Bluetooth technology will impact mobile operators, mHealth, and the sports and fitness markets.
