Crinetics Pharma Gets SBIR Grant

Bruce V. Bigelow12/9/09

Crinetics Pharmaceuticals, a San Diego startup focused on developing specialized biosensors for drug discovery applications, says it has been awarded a $237,895 Small Business Innovation Research Grant from the National Institutes of Health. A Crinetics spokesman says the company also has an application pending for $1 million in “fast-track” funding, but won’t learn the outcome until spring. The company says its technology is focused on developing G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) biosensors for use both internally in Crinetics’ drug discovery programs and through corporate partners’ programs.
