RoyaltyShare Expands UK Service

Bruce V. Bigelow 6/15/09

San Diego’s RoyaltyShare, which provides software-as-a-service for record labels that want to track and collect music royalties, says its technology now supports the U.K.’s Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society. Bob Kohn, RoyaltyShare’s co-founder, chairman and CEO, says creating an automated process for reporting royalties to MCPS represents a “significant milestone” for RoyaltyShare. “They have 100 percent market share in the U.K., and all record labels in the U.K. use the MCPS system,” Kohn told me today. Royalty Share’s online Digital Advantage service aggregates and monitors record label sales, and calculates royalties owed to artists, songwriters, and music publishers.
