BakBone buys ColdSpark for $15.9M

San Diego-based data backup and recovery firm BakBone has acquired Broomfield, CO-based ColdSpark, a provider of enterprise email solutions. According to a press release, BakBone will pay $15.9 million for the company in cash and common shares. ColdSpark’s co-founder and chief technologist Scott Brown will become GM of BakBone’s new Message Management Division. This month, BakBone also acquired Santa Clara, CA-based Asempra Technologies, another data protection company.
