Technology improvements now allow some autonomous underwater vehicles, or AUVs, to navigate the oceans for upwards of 1,000 miles. San Diego Connect has organized this luncheon presentation by Professor Russ Davis, director of the instrument development group at UC San Diego’s Scripps Institution of Oceanography. His lecture describes his recent work with AUVs, including their technical challenges and potential uses, both civilian and military. Online registration is here.
