Quidel, the San Diego-based maker of diagnostic tests, said today it has hired Douglas Bryant as CEO. Bryant, 51, was chief operating officer of Luminex, where he oversaw its molecular diagnostics business. He will start with a minimum base salary of $450,000, plus an annual bonus worth 80 percent to 120 percent of his salary, depending on whether he reaches goals set by the board. Bryant officially replaces Caren Mason on March 1.
