Bruce V. Bigelow10/14/08

The Salk Institute yesterday named Dr. William R. Brody, outgoing president of Johns Hopkins University, as its new president. Brody, 64, is retiring from Johns Hopkins in December and will assume his new job in La Jolla on March 1. As a successful entrepreneur who co-founded three biotechnology companies, Brody is expected to provide his business expertise as Salk scientists seek to launch new ventures.
