Early Bird Rate Ends Today: Xconomy's Hardtech Revolution Event 12/9

We’ve assembled a killer lineup of entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators for our latest New York tech event, The Hardtech Revolution: Makers, Markets, and Mobile. And today is your last chance to save big on early bird tickets to this half-day forum, hosted by AppNexus.

Just what is the Hardtech Revolution? We’re seeing it play out every day as the innovations of the Web generation meet the real world, upsetting the old guard and uncovering new markets all around us.

Before the ideas of the “sharing economy” took root in startups from coast to coast, it was pretty tough to find a cheap way to stay in a new city or park your car before a long flight. Today, startups like FlightCar are challenging the entrenched rental and parking players by paying people to rent their car to other travelers while they’re away.

Want to keep an eye on your kids? Not too long ago, you might buy one of those hilarious baby-leashes to keep them close at hand. Now, you can enlist some savvy tech to help out—just take a look at Filip Technologies, which makes a kids’ smartwatch that tracks their location and can connect parents to their little ones in an instant by phone.

Just a few years ago, plenty of aspiring hardware entrepreneurs would have hit a wall when payoff-conscious investors declined to bankroll their expensive ideas. Today, upstarts like the Pebble smartwatch and the Formlabs 3D printer can turn to crowdfunding sites and manufacturing specialists like Dragon Innovation to make their dreams happen.

And speaking of 3D printing, Shapeways CEO Peter Weijmarshausen will be featured in a fireside chat at our event with Zack Schildhorn of Lux Capital. Weijmarshausen is a big proponent of the ways 3D printing can disrupt the manufacturing scene—and even produce designer gowns for Dita Von Teese to model.

You’ll hear from the CEOs and founders of all of these companies and plenty more at The Hardtech Revolution on Dec. 9. It’s a half-day, afternoon forum that packs in the insights and doesn’t waste your time with fluff or paid speakers, and includes plenty of networking time and a post-event reception.

We’ve got special rates for students and startups, and an extra-special Early Bird rate of just $95 for the whole program and reception—but you have to get your tickets now to lock in the Early Bird rate.

Make it happen, and we’ll see you at AppNexus on Dec. 9. Here’s our full list of speakers:
