The more New York makes its presence known on the venture landscape, the more this community faces questions about its sustainability. Xconomy will host a half-day forum on April 25 to delve into what some of New York’s leading entrepreneurs, and the venture capitalists who back them, can do to ensure that the current surge among local technology companies has staying power.

This event, called New York’s Venture Challenge: Building Big to Last, will feature a trio of founder-investor stories that examine the ways venture capitalists and entrepreneurs work together to build great, lasting companies. The half-day forum will be held the morning of April 25 at AppNexus on West 23rd Street in New York. The roster of keynote speakers includes David Karp, founder of Tumblr; teaming with investor Bijan Sabet, a general partner with Spark Capital in Boston; Everyday Health CEO Ben Wolin paired with Habib Kairouz of New Yok’s Rho Capital Partners; and Neil Blumenthal, co-founder and co-CEO of Warby Parker, who will be taking the stage with Joel Cutler of General Catalyst Partners.

Beyond that star-studded trio of keynote storytellers, we’ll have some special rants and burst presentations from other NY innovation notables and entrepreneurs. So far, we’ve confirmed New York Angels Chairman Brian Cohen—but stayed tuned for more news in the coming weeks about some other great presenters who will join our lineup..

The tech community in New York has raised its flag among the nation’s innovation hubs; now it is time discuss how startups here can grow into companies that are built for the long haul.

Early bird tickets are still available. Click here for more details and to register.
