New York’s ShopKeep.com says it raised $2.2 million in a Series A funding round led by Tribeca Venture Partners and TTV Capital. Contour Venture Partners also participated in the round. ShopKeep developed a point-of-sale platform that retailers can use on the Apple iPad as well as with Mac-powered registers. The company also provides Web-based software, which can run in any browser, for inventory management and customer tracking. ShopKeep charges retailers fees to use its software.

David Olk, ShopKeep co-founder and chief operating officer, says via e-mail the new funding will go towards new hires and technology development. The company plans to hire 10 new employees over the next six months. ShopKeep, founded in 2010, currently has a staff of 15. Olk says ShopKeep has raised $3 million in total funding to date.
