New York-based BuyWithMe, an online group-buying startup founded in Boston, said today it has acquired Groop Swoop, a San Francisco-based deals site. Terms of the purchase were not given, but it’s an example of further consolidation in the daily deals sector led by Groupon and LivingSocial. The acquisition comes on the heels of BuyWithMe’s purchase of Chicago-based DealADayOnline and Seattle- and San Diego-focused deals site LocalTwist in recent months. BuyWithMe, founded in 2009, is active in 13 metro areas around the U.S. and says it plans to double that number by the end of this year.
