NYC Rolls Out New Digital Media Plan

New York City will soon roll out partnerships with Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, and Tumblr, according to the city’s chief digital officer, Rachel Sterne. Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s office unveiled a report called “Road Map for the Digital City,” which outlines a number of initiatives designed to make NYC a more technologically savvy place. Among the plans: Expanded Wi-Fi capabilities in public places, a more user-friendly version of city portal nyc.gov, and a Foursquare badge to encourage the use of parks and other public spaces.
