New York City will soon roll out partnerships with Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, and Tumblr, according to the city’s chief digital officer, Rachel Sterne. Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s office unveiled a report called “Road Map for the Digital City,” which outlines a number of initiatives designed to make NYC a more technologically savvy place. Among the plans: Expanded Wi-Fi capabilities in public places, a more user-friendly version of city portal, and a Foursquare badge to encourage the use of parks and other public spaces.
