7. Notability Not everyone has typing superpowers. For those lectures or interviews when you just can’t take notes fast enough to keep up with the speaker, there are several good apps that will record audio at the same time and synchronize it with your notes, so that you can just tap a word and jump to that part of the sound file. My previous favorite (and still the simplest and easiest to use in this category) is SoundNote. But Notability is great for students because it has a ton of extra features. In this app, you can take notes by hand using a stylus, insert Web clips or photos from your camera roll, and organize your notes into notebooks. Also, everything is backed up automatically on Notability’s cloud servers.
