Starwalk NEXT APP >>
8. Starwalk — Vito Technology, $4.99 — How could a $4.99 virtual planetarium app be better than expensive PC astronomy programs like Starry Night? Well, try taking your laptop outside and holding it up to the sky: it’s not going to show you the stars and planets you’re looking at in real time, the way Starwalk app does. This app uses the iPad’s compass, accelerometer, and GPS chip to figure out where are and where you’re pointing, and shows a live, labeled representation of the sky. You can even spin the sky forward and backward in time using the time slider.
