| 1. Angry Birds HD — Chillingo, $4.99 — This game has been at the top of the iPhone and iPad charts for months, but it seemed so goofy and frivolous that I resisted buying it for a long time. That was dumb. It is goofy and frivolous, but in a totally addictive way. You represent a clan of birds whose eggs have been stolen by evil green pigs; the goal is to knock down the pigs’ houses by slingshotting avian ammo at them. Warning: many, many cartoon birds were harmed in the making of this game.
