Lexington, MA-based RainDance Technologies, a maker of genomic research tools, said today it has closed a $37.5 million Series D financing round co-led by new investor Quaker BioVentures and existing investor Mohr Davidow Ventures. Previous investors Alloy Ventures and Acadia Woods also participated in the round. RainDance, founded in 2004, has developed a system that can conduct thousands of DNA experiments per second, contained in ultra-tiny fluid droplets. The company is led by CEO Roopom Banerjee, who came on in early 2010.
