Hopkinton, MA-based data storage giant EMC (NYSE: EMC) said today it has acquired Bus-Tech, a Bedford, MA, maker of technologies for storing and retrieving data from mainframe tape-based systems. Financial terms weren’t given. Bus-Tech, an existing partner of EMC, will become part of the latter’s Backup Recovery Systems division, which was recently formed from EMC’s previous acquisitions of Data Domain and Avamar. EMC spoke with Xconomy this week about its broader acquisitions strategy and the business impact of some of its recent deals.
