Gregory T. Huang7/23/10

Wakefield, MA-based Picis, a maker of Web-based software systems for hospitals, is being acquired by Ingenix, a healthcare intelligence and analytics company based in Eden Prairie, MN. Financial terms of the deal weren’t announced, but Ingenix says it will maintain the Picis office in Wakefield as well as its other operations in the U.S. and Europe. Picis’s software helps emergency departments, operating and recovery rooms, and intensive care units deliver clinical, financial, and operational results. The company says it has licensed its systems to more than 1,800 hospitals in 19 countries. Picis was founded in 1994 in Virginia and moved its headquarters to Massachusetts with its acquisition of Medical Systems Management in 2002.
