E Ink, the Cambridge-based firm that provides the electronic ink and paper technology for e-book readers such as Amazon’s Kindle 2. Personally, I like stories about companies like E Ink succeeding in finding big markets for their inventions—and given this story’s popularity I suspect that Xconomy readers feel the same way.

5. The Ups and Downs at OLPC

The top two leaders of the One Laptop Per Child Foundation (OLPC) gave Wade the lowdown on the recent wins and losses at the Cambridge nonprofit back in January, including a candid assessment of the group’s failed Give One, Get One program. It’s a must-read post on where the well-chronicled organization has been and where it plans to go with its mission to bring affordable computing to children of the developing world.
