.406 Ventures Backs WellAware

Ryan McBride12/8/09

Boston-based .406 Ventures is investing in WellAware Systems’ new $7.5 million round of financing, the Charlottesville, VA, startup reports. The company has developed integrated sensors and software designed to help healthcare providers monitor senior patients. Valhalla Partners, of Vienna, VA, joined .406 (which is named after the record-setting batting average of the late and great Red Sox hitter Ted Williams in 1941) in the new round of financing. WellAware says that the money will help the firm market its products in the rapidly growing market for senior care technology.
