Covidien to Buy Aspect Medical for $210M

Irish healthcare products giant Covidien (NYSE:COV) has reached an agreement to purchase Aspect Medical Systems (NASDAQ:ASPM), a Norwood, MA-based company specializing in braining monitoring technology, for approximately $210 million in cash, Covidien announced today. Aspect, founded in 1987, will become part of Covidien’s Oximetry and Monitoring product line inside the Medical Devices segment, according to a statement.
