Another Biogen Director to Retire

Ryan McBride8/26/09

Biogen Idec reports today that Cecil Pickett, the biotech firm’s president of R&D, will be leaving his position on the board of directors when he retires on Oct. 5. This is a change from the March 2009 announcement of Pickett’s retirement, when the Cambridge, MA-based firm (NASDAQ:BIIB) said he would stay on the board after retiring from his executive role. Last month the company revealed that Biogen co-founder and Nobel laureate Phil Sharp was retiring from the company’s board.
